Welcome

Welcome to the South Central Friesian Horse Association (SCFHA) website.  We are a chapter of the Friesian Horse Association of North America (FHANA).  FHANA is the North American affiliate of the Dutch Friesian studbook (KFPS) Koninklijke Vereniging Het Friesch Paarden-Stamboek, est. in 1879.  Though our members are mainly in Texas, SCFHA includes members in Oklahoma, New Mexico, Mississippi, Louisiana, Kansas and Arkansas.  In addition our membership is open to Friesian lovers anywhere. The SCFHA will abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the FHANA. 

SCFHA Goals
Our chapter was established in March of 2005 for the purpose of promoting the KFPS pure bred Friesian horse, education, recreation and sharing our common love of the Friesian horse.

Approved stallion Michiel 442 to be auctioned.

The second edition of the Friesian Star Sale has an interesting twist with the approved stallion Michiel 442 to be auctioned. Michiel 442 was born in Canada at Harry Witteveen's place and was approved in the US in 2008. The six year old Tsjerk 328 son (out of a starmare by Leffert 306) bred in North-America for a year and is now available for breeding in Holland for the second year in a row. FPS Judge Fetze Veldstra Takes so Time off from Judging. Jul 14, 2010

 In the next few months inspector Fetze Veldstra will not be judging horses. This has been agreed upon by Veldstra and the KFPS-direction. Among the reasons are the number of activities for the KFPS in Holland and outside of Holland, plus the work he had to do at home for the last couple of years. This has caused the need for Veldstra to slow down temporary. The KFPS has found Piet Hoekstra available to replace Fetze Veldstra for now.

 Felle 422 son scores over 90 points in ABFP-test

Scores above 90 points are exeptional during ABFP- and IBOP-tests. On the ABFP-test that was completed this week, there was another 90 points horse to see. The stallion Yorick v.d. Giesenbos, owned by Anne Okkema from Britswerd got to the excellent score of 92 points. The three years old Felle 422 son showed himself as a talentend riding horse, showed three excellent gaits and moved with a lot of balance through the ring. Another very good score was set by a 3 year old mare by Harmen 424. In the riding test, Yeske got to the very good score of 85.5 points. Both horses added up to the high average score of 72 points for the whole test.
It is a positive thing that more and more non-professional horse owners send their horses to the WB-stables in Wergea. The test that starts Monday has 25 horses, mostly from non-professional horse owners.
