What is a STEM-LINE on your Friesians papers?
The concept of ‘stam line’ refers to the recorded genealogy of notable broodmares within a particular linage representing their bottom pedigree line comprising dam, grand-dam, great-grand-dam, ect. In contrast with sire lines that trace ancestry via fathers, stam lines highlight crucial motherline history which plays an equally important role in delivering quality offspring. Certain stem-lines have earned recognition for occasionally producing approved stallions.
